On 8th September 2026, the presentation event of Fieravicola took place in Abidjan. Fieravicola is an international exhibition dedicated to the entire poultry sector and a leading European platform for innovation, technology, biosafety and sustainable development. The next edition will be held in Rimini from 20 to 22 April 2027. The initiative, organised by ITA – Dakar with the support of the Ministry of Animal and Fishery Resources of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, brought together institutions, companies and Ivorian operators interested in strengthening the modernisation of the national poultry sector.
The event was opened by the Ambassador of Italy, Roberta Di Lecce, who recalled the solidity of the cooperation between Italy and Côte d’Ivoire, particularly in agri‑business and livestock farming, sectors that are central to food sovereignty, job creation and inclusive growth. The Ambassador stressed that Italy firmly believes in long‑lasting and mutually beneficial partnerships, and that this presentation aims to open the doors of Fieravicola to Ivorian poultry professionals, fostering technology transfer, industrial partnerships and new Italian investments in a rapidly expanding sector. She also reiterated that the Embassy of Italy, together with its economic and commercial cooperation instruments – in particular the ITA office in Abidjan – stands ready to support Ivorian companies, institutions and producers interested in participating in the fair or developing collaborations with Italian firms in the sector.
The Minister of Animal and Fishery Resources, Sidi Tiémoko Touré, highlighted that the initiative represents a significant opportunity for Ivorian companies at a time when the country is pursuing structural economic transformation and strengthening food security and sovereignty, in line with the guidelines set out in the National Development Plan (PND) 2026‑2030. The Minister expressed his appreciation for the excellent quality of Ivorian‑Italian cooperation and emphasised the need to increase sector productivity while ensuring high sanitary and biosafety standards, as well as environmental and socio‑economic sustainability, drawing inspiration from Italian expertise. The Ivorian poultry sector, which has achieved significant progress over the past fifteen years in terms of local production and self‑sufficiency in poultry protein, continues to offer wide margins for growth. Modernisation and mechanisation of the value chain, together with technical and professional training, are areas where cooperation with Italy can help strengthen the competitiveness of the Ivorian poultry industry on international markets. The Minister also welcomed the support offered by ITA and Fieravicola in selecting a delegation of Ivorian companies that will participate in the next edition of the fair.
The event was also attended by a delegation from Italy, composed of representatives of Neofarma, Chemifarma, Facco and Rota Guido, companies active across the entire poultry value chain – from veterinary pharmaceuticals to the design and construction of facilities and equipment – who presented their activities to Ivorian counterparts. The presence of the Presidents of the sectoral associations of Côte d’Ivoire (IPRAVI) and Guinea (FINA) was equally significant; both expressed their appreciation for this important B2B networking opportunity and reaffirmed the importance of further strengthening cooperation with Italy in a sector that is crucial for the socio‑economic development of their countries.
