The Embassy of Italy in Abidjan informs that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) has opened the call for applications for scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year, intended for international students from more than 144 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
These scholarships allow students to attend, in person, academic, training, and/or research programmes at state or legally recognised institutions in Italy, offering beneficiaries the opportunity to access a high‑quality university system and to immerse themselves in Italian culture. In particular, scholarships may be awarded for:
- Master’s Degree programmes (2nd cycle)
- AFAM programmes (Higher Education in Arts, Music and Dance) (1st and 2nd cycle)
- PhD programmes
- Research projects (including co‑tutorship)
- “Italophonia” scholarships for intensive courses in Italian language and culture
To take part in the selection process, applicants must register and submit their application through the “Study in Italy” portal by 14:00 (Italian time) on 26 March 2026. All details regarding eligibility requirements and application procedures are provided in the official call for applications.
Applicants are nevertheless strongly encouraged to begin the university pre‑enrolment procedure on the “Universitaly” portal as early as possible, without waiting for the scholarship selection results. The awarding process may conclude late in the academic calendar, which could jeopardise timely pre‑enrolment in the chosen programme.
The awarding of the scholarships will be carried out by this Embassy and subsequently validated by MAECI.
