Re entry Visa

VISA FEE: CFA F 77,000

The re‑entry visa allows foreign nationals who already hold an Italian residence permit to return to Italy when, while abroad, they are no longer able to present a valid residence document due to the expiry, loss, theft, or destruction of their permit.

What documentation is required?

To obtain the visa, the applicant must submit, in addition to the duly completed and signed application form, a valid travel document and passport photos:

  • A copy of the expired, lost, stolen, or destroyed residence permit;
  • A copy of the application for renewal of the expired residence permit, or a report of loss/theft filed with the competent authorities in the place of stay.

PLEASE NOTE: The visa will be issued only after verification by the issuing Questura (Police Headquarters) of the validity of the residence permit, in cases where the permit is still valid or has expired for no more than 60 days (extendable up to 6 months upon presentation of appropriate medical certification proving serious health reasons affecting the foreign national or their family members), and provided that the renewal has been requested within the legal timeframe; or only after the issuance of a Nulla Osta by the same Questura, in all other cases.
