The Embassy of Italy in Abidjan took part, on 8 and 9 July, in the Consultative Group for the financing of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026\u20132030, during which the Ivorian authorities presented the country\u2019s new development strategy to international partners. The event recorded a very high level of participation, with over three thousand delegates from 49 countries, representing governments, international organisations, financial institutions, civil society and the private sector.<\/p>\n
The PND 2026\u20132030, structured around six priority pillars (1. Peace, security and stability; 2. Modernisation of agriculture, increased productivity and strengthening of agricultural value chains; 3. Promotion of private investment and reduction of informality; 4. Development of human capital, skills and creation of decent jobs; 5. Development of strategic infrastructure and regional economic hubs, ecological transition, climate resilience and circular economy; 6. Promotion of good governance and modernisation of the State), builds on the previous planning cycle and aims to accelerate the structural transformation of the Ivorian economy, notably by strengthening the role of the private sector, expected to contribute around 70% of the planned investments.<\/p>\n
The pledges announced during the event \u2013 amounting to USD 80 billion \u2013 confirm the renewed confidence of international partners in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire\u2019s economic prospects.<\/p>\n
The \u201cTeam Italy\u201d (Embassy, AICS, ICE, CDP, SACE and Chamber of Commerce) worked in a coordinated manner to support the nine Italian companies present, some of which are already active in the country.
