Ethel Davis<\/strong>. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss issues of common interest, including <strong>global challenges<\/strong>, <strong>multilateral cooperation<\/strong>, and Italy\u2019s contribution to <strong>United Nations initiatives<\/strong> in Liberia and across the West African region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ambassador Di Lecce also met with <strong>former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf<\/strong>, the first woman Head of State in Africa and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, for an exchange of views on the opportunities and challenges facing Africa in the 21st century and on the role of women in the present and future of the continent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a <strong>Team Europe<\/strong> spirit, Ambassador Di Lecce finally took part in a joint reflection with the <strong>EU Delegation<\/strong> and fellow <strong>European and like\u2011minded Ambassadors<\/strong> resident and accredited in Monrovia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"On Monday, 25th May, the Ambassador of Italy, Roberta Di Lecce, presented her Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Liberia, Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr., thus formally marking the beginning of her mandate in the country.
