Use of this portal is mandatory for all applicants, pursuant to <strong>Recital 6 of Regulation (EU) 2019\/1155<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The only exception concerns <strong>family members of European Union citizens<\/strong>, who, pursuant to <strong>Article 5(2) of Directive 2004\/38\/EC<\/strong> and <strong>Legislative Decree 30\/2007<\/strong>, are entitled to <strong>priority and free processing<\/strong> of their visa applications. They may send an email to <a href=\"mailto:visti.abidjan@esteri.it\">visti.abidjan@esteri.it<\/a>, indicating the full personal details of the person for whom the visa is requested, as well as the contact information (telephone number and email address) of the person responsible for the application, and attaching a copy of the identity document of the Italian or EU family member with whom reunification is sought. The <strong><span tabindex=\"-1\" role=\"button\" aria-disabled=\"true\" data-url=\"ca:\/\/s?q=Visa_Office_opening_hours\">Visa Office<\/span><\/strong> of the Embassy receives on the following days:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span tabindex=\"-1\" role=\"button\" aria-disabled=\"true\" data-url=\"ca:\/\/s?q=Visa_application_submission_hours\">SUBMISSION OF VISA APPLICATION<\/span><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Monday<\/strong>: 09:00 \u2013 12:00<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wednesday<\/strong>: 14:00 \u2013 16:00<\/li>\n<li><strong>Friday<\/strong>: 09:00 \u2013 12:00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span tabindex=\"-1\" role=\"button\" aria-disabled=\"true\" data-url=\"ca:\/\/s?q=Passport_collection_hours\">PASSPORT COLLECTION<\/span><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tuesday<\/strong>: 14:00 \u2013 16:00<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday<\/strong>: 14:00 \u2013 16:00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Further exemptions may be granted <strong>only in exceptional cases<\/strong>, following a case\u2011by\u2011case assessment, for justified and documented needs of a necessary and urgent nature.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As of <strong>17 November 2025<\/strong>, a <strong>waiting\u2011list function<\/strong> is available, allowing users to register when no appointment slots are available and to be automatically notified as soon as an appointment becomes free.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The reservation of an appointment is always <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">FREE OF CHARGE<\/span><\/strong>. Users are strongly encouraged to <strong>report<\/strong> any attempt to sell, broker, or request payment for appointments, and not to make any payment, as such practices may constitute fraud.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once the <strong>appointment<\/strong> has been <strong>booked<\/strong>, the application must be submitted <strong>in person<\/strong> at the premises of VFS Global \u2013 C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, located at Rue des Carrossiers, Treichville zone 3, Centre commercial HLM, ground floor, Abidjan (<a href=\"https:\/\/visa.vfsglobal.com\/civ\/en\/ita\/attend-centre\/abidjan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abidjan Visa Application Centre<\/a>). <strong>VFS Centre<\/strong> opening hours are:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong><span tabindex=\"-1\" role=\"button\" aria-disabled=\"true\" data-url=\"ca:\/\/s?q=Visa_application_submission_hours\">SUBMISSION OF VISA APPLICATION<\/span><\/strong>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>Monday to Friday: <\/strong>08:00 \u2013 13:00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong><span tabindex=\"-1\" role=\"button\" aria-disabled=\"true\" data-url=\"ca:\/\/s?q=Passport_collection_hours\">PASSPORT COLLECTION<\/span><\/strong>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>Monday to Friday: <\/strong>14:00 \u2013 17:00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Applications must be submitted <strong>in person<\/strong> to allow for proper identification of the applicant and the collection of fingerprints. Applications may be submitted through a representative \u2013 duly authorised by a written power of attorney \u2013 only for applicants who have already obtained a Schengen visa within the previous 59 months. This does not exclude that the applicant may still be required to appear in person for identification purposes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">VFS Global \u2013 C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire is responsible <strong>solely<\/strong> <strong>for receiving and returning documentation to applicants<\/strong>. It has <strong>no role<\/strong> in the examination or decision\u2011making process of visa applications.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>PLEASE NOTE: Sending the application form and\/or supporting documents by email does not constitute submission of a visa application.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>ATTENTION: The Embassy of Italy in Abidjan does not provide any form of consultancy or preliminary assessment of supporting documents for visa applications.
